SiRT Concludes Investigation into Collision Resulting in Serious Injuries
The Interim Director of the Serious Incident Response Team (SiRT) found no reasonable grounds to believe that a member of the Amherst Police committed a criminal offence in connection with serious injuries sustained by a male and female in a collision.
In the early morning of October 17, 2023, the male driver of a vehicle fled from police at a high rate of speed. Police followed in a marked police vehicle with its lights activated. The vehicle crashed into a house resulting in serious injuries to the male driver and female passenger. EHS attended and the driver and passenger were transported from the scene to receive medical care.
